Description

The Rise of Big Business PowerPoint covers topics such as types of business organizations during the Gilded Age, attitudes toward business and industry, and robber barons vs. captains of industry.

The student handout allows students to follow along with the PowerPoint as they take notes on essential information they learn. There is even a video link to provide students with even more insightful information about the rise of big business in America.

Students will then use the Rockefeller Case Study Worksheet and the information they have learned to analyze Rockefeller and decide whether he is a philanthropist or a robber baron. After formulating their arguments, students are placed in groups to argue their opinions using evidence from the case study.
