Description

This is the only resource you will need to teach about government regulations during the Industrial Revolution. It includes a teacher lesson plan, 7 page Google Slides presentation, a student handout, and a political cartoon analysis worksheet.

The Government Regulations Google Slides cover topics such as worker issues during the Industrial Revolution, Supreme Court decisions, Interstate Commerce Commission, and the Sherman Anti-Trust Act.

The student handout allows students to follow along with the Google Slides as they take notes on essential information they learn. This is the perfect way to help students understand how workers were exploited during the Industrial Revolution. There is also a video link you can use to review the rise of big business and government regulation before moving on.

Students will then use the political cartoon worksheet to analyze the image and answer basic questions. They will then work with a partner to answer higher-level Bloom’s questions as they begin to focus on the message behind the cartoon.

This comprehensive U.S. history resource will be all you need to teach why the Industrial Revolution sparked government regulations during the rise of big business.
