Reconstruction 5 day Lesson

Description

Understanding the Reconstruction Era and the many different reconstruction plans can be challenging. However, this Reconstruction Lesson Plan is an easy-to-use resource that is standard aligned. The Reconstruction Google Slides cover the three different Reconstruction plans, state governments during Reconstruction, Civil War amendments, and the end of Reconstruction. Students will complete three separate handouts over three days as they dive into the Reconstruction Google Slides.

This 5-day lesson plan also includes Google Slides you can use as an informal debate in your classroom to analyze if Reconstruction was a failure or success.  As they finish, have them pair up for partner work to analyze the Thomas Nast political cartoon. This comprehensive U.S. history resource will be all you need to teach Reconstruction in just  5 days!
