Honestly, many students wake up each day and take their freedoms for granted. They do not realize what people in the past had to endure to gain the ability to share opinions and receive appropriate treatment. Additionally, students do not realize how everyone in the world still does not have access to free and appropriate education. Students must recognize how much citizens went through to receive fair treatment by the law and other citizens. Otherwise, they will take their daily freedoms for granted. Thankfully, the Civil Rights Project does a fantastic job of helping students show appreciation. The civil rights timeline project will allow students to pause and reflect on their tremendous life opportunities.

High school students have so many skills to work on. So, the civil rights timeline project includes multiple requirements. For instance, students will research to learn about the 12 focus events. Additionally, they will work on writing skills as they compose a summary and explain the significance of the events. Students will even include five pictures to help demonstrate the more profound meaning. To ensure students use high-quality sources, there are instructions to provide a list of citations.

With parental permission, students can color their hair in all colors and dress in unique ways. Likewise, they can speak their mind and follow the beat of their own drum. Regardless of how they look and their beliefs, everyone strives for acceptance. Honestly, it hurts to feel left out or made fun of for expressing individuality. This is why students need to learn about the civil rights movement. They need to realize the horrendous treatment people faced to make sure it never happens again. Thankfully, the Civil Rights Project helps students learn about segregation, stereotypes, and so much more! Students will see the thrilling changes in the 1950s and 1960s to see how people gained respect, freedom, and acceptance. The civil rights timeline project will allow students to see how lucky they are to live in the world they do!
